About Us

Maryland Model Motor Racing is a group of dedicated digital slot car racers whose goal is to promote and develop all aspects of the new digital racing platform. Our approach to digital slots draws from real motor racing to approximate a realistic and fun racing experience. The creation of digital racing allowing eight cars (six drivers and two ghosts) on two lanes, with switching lanes, has revolutionized slot car racing. Racing digital is far more challenging and realistic than analog racing. We favor 1/32nd scale for scenery and the variety achieved when using a combination of Carrera and Scalextric turns, especially in small spaces. Scenery is paramount and makes the racing look interesting and allows the model railroader type to shine. Here are just a few of the ideas we are working on:

  • Formulating class rules
  • Digital Racing of Tomorrow or “DeeRot” creates new digital classes of cars
  • Developing a stable routine and standards for digital racing
  • Creating varied and challenging circuits
  • Modifying electrical systems for easier use
  • Holding fun and varied races
  • Encouraging new racers with advice and awards
  • Encouraging new track owners
  • Using and evaluating various scoring systems, controllers, and power sources
  • Developing digital driving techniques
  • Developing the use of a ghost car fleet
  • Sharing fun scenic ideas
  • Holding endurance races for six three-driver (or more) teams
  • Painting and modeling real or fantasy car bodies
  • Helping racers set up fast cars.

Started in September 2023, MMMR is a group of digital track owners fostering fun racing and friendship.
